Exciting news for Palworld players! The introduction of the formidable raid boss, Xenolord, offers an exhilarating challenge that pushes the limits of your Pals. As the most demanding boss encounter I’ve experienced in the game, Xenolord’s unmatched attack patterns will test even the most prepared adventurers.

When you face Xenolord, you will quickly realize the intensity of this battle. Within minutes, players will witness the sheer difficulty of engaging this agile dragon. To help you prepare for this daunting challenge, I’ve compiled essential strategies and tips for overcoming Xenolord.

Preparing for the Fight

To have the best chance of defeating Xenolord, always carry additional ammunition. The boss’s speed can lead to missed shots, making ample supplies crucial. Tackling Xenolord solo can be exceptionally challenging unless you optimize the world settings for increased player damage.

Make sure to pack revival potions, advanced recovery medicine, buff food, and healing pods to safeguard your Pals and Palbox during the fight. Enhancing your Pals’ levels, crafting the finest armor and weapons, and assembling a solid team is highly beneficial before the raid.

One crucial preparation step is to acquire the Xenolord Slab. You can obtain this item by fusing Xenolord Slab Fragments obtained from Dungeon chests and successful Pal expeditions.

Once you have the Xenolord Slab, you’ll need to construct the Summoning Altar, which requires specific materials obtainable at Level 33 in the Technology tab:

Item Amount Stone 100 Paldium Fragment 20

For weaponry, I highly endorse using a Rocket Launcher, Laser Gatling Cannon, or Plasma Cannon due to their superior damage output. Upgrading to Legendary variants of these weapons will maximize your impact. Additionally, equipping the finest armor, helmet, shield, and Pals with excellent IV traits can significantly improve your chances in battle.

As Xenolord has a weakness to Ice-type Pals, I recommend including Frostallion and Gobfins in your lineup. Gobfins boost your damage output, while Frostallion adds an Ice effect to your attacks, making them vital allies during the encounter.

Where to Start the Fight

Choosing the right location is critical to protect your Palbox from Xenolord’s devastating strikes. The boss can rapidly decimate your Palbox with powerful attacks. Therefore, establishing your Palbox in a secure area allows for minuscule exposure to the boss’s onslaught.

Xenolord employs area-of-effect laser beams and potent jump attacks, posing a severe threat to your Pals. The boss boasts over one million HP, so finding a strategic location where these attacks seldom reach is essential.

I recommend positioning the Palbox at coordinates (285, 302).This spot ensures safety as the boss spawns on the ground while your Palbox remains elevated. In my experience, the boss only managed to strike the Palbox a couple of times during the challenging raid, making this location effective not only against Xenolord but also against other tough bosses like Bellanoir and Blazamut Ryu.

Some additional Pals may be drawn to the battle; you can collect extra materials after dealing with Xenolord’s area-of-effect attacks against them.

Fighting Against Xenolord

As soon as you summon Xenolord at the altar, brace yourself for immediate assaults. The boss unleashes massive laser beams, homing dark attacks, and aerial ambushes, making a strategic approach crucial. Equip your party with Pals that are resistant to Dark/Dragon types to diminish damage taken during the encounter.

Be prepared for the boss to summon minions, known as Xenovaders and Xenogards, once it reaches a certain health threshold. To effectively counter this, consider using Frostallion as your primary mount and a reliable Rocket Launcher capable of inflicting area-of-effect damage to clear out the lesser foes quickly.

While engaging in combat, it’s essential to isolate Xenovaders and Xenogards for a few moments before returning your focus to Xenolord. If your Pals cluster together, they are at risk of being wiped out by the boss’s powerful area-of-effect attacks.

Choose your Pals wisely; whether you opt for max condensed Bastigors, defensive Knocklems, or more Frostallions, tailor your strategy based on what you have available. Prioritizing damage output is fundamentally the most effective strategy against Xenolord.

Maintain the boss’s attention on your character while skillfully dodging attacks with Frostallion’s dashes. Its agility allows you to evade many incoming strikes. If a Pal or your central mount falls, remember to switch them out at the Palbox and rejoin the fight. Staying out of Xenolord’s range is advisable, as proximity can lead to rapid defeat.

If you prefer a less labor-intensive approach, consider modifying the world settings to enhance player damage, making the encounter more manageable.

Rewards for Defeating Xenolord

Upon besting Xenolord, players receive a Huge Dark Egg, which incubates into a Xenolord. You can utilize this creature as a flying mount equipped with the Xenolord Saddle.

Here’s what you’ll need to craft the saddle:

Xenolord Saddle 30 Leather 50 Dark Fragment 30 Meteor Fragment 200 Paldium Fragment

It’s advisable to work on breeding offensive traits for Xenolord to enhance its effectiveness in battle.

As for the main loot, here’s a breakdown of what you can anticipate upon defeating the boss:
