Complete Guide to DOOM The Dark Ages Hebeth Walkthrough
The tutorial phase in DOOM: The Dark Ages isn’t quite finished. In Chapter 2 – Hebeth, players will gain access to an array of powerful new weapons to enhance their demon-slaying capabilities. Alongside this, look out for numerous collectibles and hidden spots throughout the chapter.
This guide aims to assist you in uncovering these hidden treasures. Here’s our comprehensive DOOM: The Dark Ages Hebeth walkthrough, covering all collectible locations and secrets, including newly introduced Weapon Skins and Demonic Essence upgrades.
Comprehensive Walkthrough for DOOM: The Dark Ages – Hebeth
In the Hebeth chapter, be on the lookout for the following items:
- 9 Secrets
- 1 Codex Entry (Collectible)
- 1 Toy (Collectible)
- 1 Weapon Skin (Collectible)
- 1 Demonic Essence (Health Upgrade)
As highlighted in our Chapter 1 – Village of Khalim guide, remember that collectibles and secrets can be located in different areas, and they do not always coincide.
You can check your progress on the right-hand side of your map at any time, which will also indicate any nearby collectibles, secrets, or gold. Make it a habit to refer to your map frequently!
Secret Location 1
Following the tutorial for the Shield Saw, utilize the Shield Saw to access the door ahead. Once inside, look to your left and perform a Shield Bash to discover a hidden area containing cultists.

Secret Location 2 and Collectible 1
After finding Secret #1, proceed through the next area via the door marked with a green sigil.
At the top of the stairs, check the right for a climbable vent.| Image credit: Bethesda/VG247Ascend the stairs and to the right, you’ll find some crates that allow access to a vent harboring a Toy Stalker Collectible.
Collectible 2
Continue following your quest objective and after interacting with a terminal to pass through a specific door, drop down towards the enemies in front of you.
Navigate this path to locate the Codex entry.| Image credit: Bethesda/VG247In the upcoming corridor, you can destroy some Hot Metal to open a gate on your right; however, we recommend turning left first. This will lead you past allied guards and eventually to your next Codex.
Secret Location 3
Once you’ve been introduced to the Stone Imps and their countering mechanics, enter the Weapons Facility.
Prepare to discover your first Sentinel Shrine, where you can enhance your weapons, melee tools, and shields, along with an accompanying Gold Chest filled with valuable resources for upgrades.
From the Shrine, make your way to the left corridor and progress until you face some Imp enemies. They should have disrupted a wall leading into the next room; follow them through the opening to uncover a secret.

Secret Location 4
Proceed with your mission to acquire the Blue Keycard, then return to the Sentinel Shrine and access a door requiring this keycard. Be prepared for an enemy encounter as you enter the area!

Image credit: Bethesda/VG247Next to the hologram lies a vent—execute a Shield Bash to move through it and retrieve another Life Sigil, marking your fourth secret location in Hebeth.
Secret Location 5
Upon returning to the first Sentinel Shrine, after navigating the Blue Keycard room and the Research Lab, exit to the hallway beside the Shrine. This time, turn right.
At the hall’s end, check the right side again for a climbable wall situated above a downward path.

Secret Location 6
Continue your quest until you’re outside the facility. Jump across rooftops that contain gold bars. To your left, there’s hot metal that you can target with a Shield Throw to access a room.

Image credit: Bethesda/VG247Directly across from this room’s door, you’ll spot an entrance that was previously blocked by flames—navigate there to acquire a Life Sigil and Gold, then prepare for the upcoming enemy battle.
Secret Location 7
During the challenging enemy encounter that follows, there will be a locked door in the corner housing some Gold. You can enter this after defeating the enemies!

As you move past the point of no return, enter the next region. Upon reaching your second Sentinel Shrine—which you can access using the Shield Saw on the green Flesh Node—climb the wall to your left. You’ll see crates nearby that provide access to an open vent.

Secret Location 9
After exiting the vent, return to the Sentinel Shrine in this area. Along the right wall of the Shrine, there is a concealed fleshy path granting access to a Gold Crate.

Demonic Essence (Health Upgrade)
Lastly, defeat the Pinky Rider at the chapter’s end to earn the Demonic Essence upgrade, enhancing your overall health!
