In the vibrant world of Dig, acquiring rare charms can often be a daunting task. However, some charms can be obtained more conveniently through specific quests, and the Ghostbuster Quest stands out as an engaging opportunity. This quest involves excavating particular items to earn a valuable mythical charm. To enhance your success, it’s advisable to use a shovel with favorable luck attributes, especially for newcomers who may find this adventure somewhat challenging.
Commencing the Ghostbuster Quest in Dig

- Drive past the NPC Grant Thorn at the entrance of the Rooftop Woodlands and continue until you reach the merchant and mechanic.
- Proceed to the rear of the merchant and mechanic.
- In the graveyard area, you will encounter Sam Colby at the coordinates: 3718, 226, -651.
- Engage with Sam, who will ask you to unearth 3 Ghosts (Legendary items).
Once you’ve accepted the quest, your next step is to dig up the 3 Ghosts and return to Sam to redeem your rewards.
Strategies for Finding Ghosts in Dig
Ghosts are the elusive legendary items you’re tasked with collecting by digging at certain locations, particularly in Rooftop Woodlands. While it’s a common belief that these items can only be found in the graveyard amidst large crowds, in my experience, I’ve successfully dug up a ghost even near the mechanic. This indicates that they may appear in various locations if you have a proficient shovel.
To improve your chances of discovering Ghosts, consider the following tips:
- Focus your digging efforts during the Summer season and particularly on Foggy days.
- Look out for glowing dig beacons around Rooftop Woodlands, which enhance the likelihood of uncovering a legendary item.
- Utilize Legendary Magnets to slightly increase your chances while digging.
- Attend special weather events in Dig, like the Meteor shower or Clover storm, to significantly boost your luck. Additionally, events like the Blue Moon can improve your digging strength.
Remember, initiating the quest is essential; if you attempt to find Ghosts without starting the quest, they will not count towards your progress.
Rerolling Stats for the Ectoplasm Sleeve
After successfully collecting all three ghosts, return to Sam in the Graveyard to claim your reward: the Ectoplasm Sleeve charm. Bear in mind that this is a one-time quest, so the pips you receive cannot be refreshed by revisiting Sam.
Many players may find themselves dissatisfied with their charm’s stats and seek to optimize them. To do this, utilize the Charm Chisel available in Dig as follows:
- Purchase the Charm Chisel from the Appraiser located in Fox Town.
- Access your equipment bag and navigate to the Charms tab.
- Select the Ectoplasm Sleeve and click the pencil icon to reroll its stats.
- Pay the corresponding amount of currency, and the stats will be updated.
Make sure to unequip the charm before attempting this process, as it must be removed for the reroll to take effect. Repeat the rerolling procedure until you achieve the desired stats.
