Clockwork Revolution Introduces ‘Truly Evil’ Choices and Multi-Person Dialogue Features

Exciting New Developments in Clockwork Revolution Revealed at Xbox Games Showcase 2025
At the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, inXile Entertainment unveiled its highly anticipated first-person steampunk RPG, Clockwork Revolution, through a captivating new trailer. Additionally, the development team participated in an insightful interview with Xbox Wire, offering fans a deeper understanding of the game’s unique features.
Diving into Multi-Person Dialogues
One of the standout elements discussed was the game’s multi-person dialogue system. Players can engage in conversations that involve several characters, which can drastically alter the narrative experience. Chad Moore, the game director and programmer known for his work on the classic Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura, highlighted the significance of dialogue choices. He explained that selecting whom to converse with can lead to unexpected outcomes, such as in the trailer where a poor decision leads to a character’s demise, forever altering the story for that playthrough.
The Weight of Choices
Brian Fargo, the founder of inXile, emphasized the importance of delivering a role-playing experience that resonates with core fans of the genre.“It was crucial for us to showcase the depth of the game’s narrative and the impact of player choices, ”he shared.“Clockwork Revolution is designed to challenge players not only in combat but also through morally complex decisions that affect the game world.” The inclusion of ‘truly evil’ dialogue options adds another layer of complexity, encouraging players to explore dark paths and witness the consequences of their actions.
Game Progress and Future Release
Clockwork Revolution was initially introduced at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, where it was described as being in its early development stages. Now, as development has progressed, the team is working diligently towards a release—though no specific date has been confirmed. Phil Spencer did not include the game in the upcoming 2026 Xbox lineup, suggesting that fans might have to wait a bit longer. Currently, the game is confirmed for PC and Xbox Series S|X, and with Microsoft’s recent multiplatform strategy, it is likely to be available on other consoles in the foreseeable future.
As anticipation builds, players can look forward to an engaging, choice-driven experience in Clockwork Revolution that promises to redefine storytelling within the RPG genre.
