Ubisoft is gearing up for the much-anticipated release of Anno 117: Pax Romana, the latest installment in its renowned city-building and management series. To build excitement, the company is offering an open demo for players that extends a unique opportunity for exploration before the official launch.

Demo Availability and Access

This fresh demo is set to be available for download and play from September 2 through September 16, 2025. Gamers can access the demo on multiple platforms, including Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect.

And while this demo is inclusive to all players, it employs a limited gameplay time. Players can delve into the first two population tiers across the regions of Latium and Albion in Sandbox Mode but will find the experience curtailed by a one-hour limit for each save file.

Gameplay Features and Restrictions

In this introductory experience, players can focus on various gameplay aspects, such as:

• Establishing new settlements
• Conducting research
• Building structures for the available population tiers

While players will have the opportunity to interact with NPCs, it’s crucial to note that engaging in warfare is not permitted in this demo. Furthermore, there is a limited selection of items that can be utilized within villas and ships, adding another layer of challenge to the gameplay experience.

Gameplay Details and Limitations

Each new game save allows for an hour of exploration, and players can create and restart saves as many times as desired until the demo’s end on September 16. Ubisoft clarified, “You will be able to settle new islands, conduct research, and build all the buildings of the available population tiers.” However, players should be aware that the game difficulty and NPC interactions are fixed to a preset balance, with only the initial province being customizable in this demo.

At this stage, multiplayer options such as co-op and PVP modes are unavailable, and it’s important to note that any progress from the demo will not transfer to the full version of the game. On a positive note, there is no non-disclosure agreement (NDA) attached, allowing players to share their experiences and any footage freely.

Release Information

Mark your calendars! Anno 117: Pax Romana is expected to debut on November 13, 2025, across Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Subscribers of Ubisoft+ will also enjoy access to the game right from its launch day.
