The Impact of NVIDIA DLSS 4 on Nintendo Switch 2

The potential integration of NVIDIA DLSS 4 technology in the Nintendo Switch 2 could revolutionize gaming on the platform, as evidenced by a recent gameplay video featuring Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Performance Showcase: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

In a detailed video analysis produced by RandomGaminginHD, the performance of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was displayed, revealing how it operates at 1080p resolution while being upscaled from a base 360p resolution using NVIDIA DLSS 4. This upscale was performed on an RTX 4060 GPU, which, while capable, is not at the forefront of GPU technology.

Despite the significant leap in resolution from the original 360p, the application of DLSS 4 has yielded impressive results. Players can expect to see an average frame rate of approximately 90 FPS at the highest settings without ray tracing enabled. When ray tracing is applied, the performance remains robust, averaging around 53 FPS. These outcomes are particularly encouraging for the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, rumored to support DLSS technology. Such enhancements would afford an acceptable visual experience on the console’s 1080p display, making gaming more immersive.

Hope for Efficient Performance

Looking ahead, it is hoped that the Nintendo Switch 2 will effectively utilize the Transformer model behind NVIDIA DLSS 4, preserving gameplay performance while significantly enhancing graphics quality.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has recently launched on PC, albeit not without issues. Some players faced critical crashes that marred the otherwise highly anticipated release. Following this, Sony and developer Nixxes quickly implemented a hotfix to resolve the majority of these problems, although reports of crashes still persist.

Availability

Currently, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is accessible to players on both PC and PlayStation 5 globally.
