Founded as a subsidiary of Bandai Namco in 1999, Monolith Soft was acquired by Nintendo in 2007. Since then, the studio has dedicated itself to creating engaging titles within the Xenoblade Chronicles series, all of which remain exclusive to Nintendo platforms.
As of late 2024, Monolith Soft is preparing to launch a remaster of Xenoblade Chronicles X—the 2015 Wii U title—on March 20, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch, aiming to reach players worldwide simultaneously.
