How to Unlock the Moon in Dig

How do you visit the Moon?

Get to the Moon

Firstly, you need to head to the second island, which you can do by using the Ferry. From here, you must go to the Copper Mesa either by driving or using your Glider. I recommend driving, as it’s much faster, but the Glider does help you to get to the higher points much more easily.

Whilst in the Copper Mesa, head in the direction of the Alona Jungle, but remain in the Copper Mesa to find the Observatory. At the bottom of the Observatory, there is an elevator that you can take to travel up. When looking at your map, the Observatory is in the middle area of the island.

After walking into the elevator, you are teleported to the Observatory. Once you exit the elevator, you can jump up to find the building with a helicopter outside. An NPC wearing a top hat stands here, who provides you with the ‘Out of This World‘ quest. This quest requires a lot of items, so it takes a while!

How to Complete the ‘Out of This World’ Quest

This quest entails a bunch of objectives that range from collecting certain items to completing quests, defeating bosses, and obtaining a specific shovel.

  • Collect 1 Pet Rock
  • Purchase the Starfire Shovel
  • Collect 1 Meteor
  • Collect a total of 250 items
  • Reach level 65
  • Collect 1 Laser Saber
  • Defeat 2 bosses
  • Collect 20 Shiny items
  • Collect 1 Rock Statue
  • Collect 10 Loot items
  • Complete 3 of the Salty Saloon quests
  • Collect 25 Modified items
  • Deal a total of 40K DMG to bosses

After finishing these objectives, you can speak with the NPC with the top hat again to complete it! You obtain a bunch of rewards, including crafting recipes and Tomes, and you can access the helicopter.

Interact with the helicopter to teleport to the Launch Site, which is where the rocket is. Walk over to the rocket and interact with it to teleport to the Moon. The first area you get to explore is the Lunar Dunes, and there are lots of new items to collect for your journal!
