Does 99 Nights in the Forest Save Progress?
When you’ve progressed a fair way into the game, you don’t want to lose your progress, right? Maybe you need to log off to go out or do something else for a while, but you’re super close to reaching Day 99.
So, can you save your progress in 99 Nights in the Forest? The answer is no, unfortunately. No matter whether you’re playing solo or with other people, you cannot save in 99 Nights in the Forest. Once you log off, you lose all of your progress.
If you’re playing with a group, once the last player disconnects from the game, all progress is lost, too. Some players say that if you rejoin a multiplayer group after leaving, you can hop right back in, but if all players within the group leave the game, you’ll be reset back to Day 1.
The Pros of Saving
Now, being able to save your progress in 99 Nights in the Forest would be a useful feature. After all, the game can take quite a while to complete, especially if you’re aiming to reach Day 99 or more. Let’s say you’ve found most of the missing kids, but you’ve got one left.
By saving your progress, you can rejoin when you’ve got time to complete the game. But, since the game doesn’t include this feature, you’ll have to restart from the beginning all over again.
Why Can’t You Save Your Progress?
Due to the nature of the game, you cannot save. It’s not like having a character in a server-wide open world game. Once you load into a round of 99 Nights in the Forest, you and whoever else you’re playing with join an instance.
Once the instance is no longer active, all progress made in that instance is deleted. The only thing that saves are the achievements and badges you earn, as well as the classes you unlock.
