Derelict Soul Amalgam
There are 2 ways to get a Soul Amalgam! I prefer the farming method as it’s easy and quick to do, but you do need to unlock the Bonsai point first, which is a bit of a ways into the game. The whole point of a Soul Amalgam is to use it in the crafting recipes for the Apprentice Set armor, the Crystal Hammer, and Staves. If you’re a sorcerer, you need Soul Amalgams!
Farming Method
Before you even start to think about getting Soul Amalgam, you must have a Mining Level of 34 and a Foraging Level of 34. These skills are pretty easy to level up! Use your pickaxe whenever you find ore deposits and pick up anything in the wilderness such as onions and mushrooms.
There are lots of Bonsai points to unlock that allow you to travel between locations, but the one you need is Crystalline Caverns. While there’s no right or wrong way to explore the world of Derelict, if you follow the general path of quests, you should reach the Baron’s Tavern Bonsai before finding the Crystalline Caverns.
From the Bonsai, walk down the slope and into the caverns. As you head down this path, you should pick up the blue glowing mushrooms along the way. These mushrooms are called Soul Shrooms! Make sure you have your pickaxe with you and mine the blue spikey crystals that you find in the caverns too – these are Soul Shards.
Next, teleport back to Gideon’s Camp and walk over to the anvil. The recipe for Soul Amalgam asks for 8 Soul Shards and 2 Soul Shrooms. Once you’ve crafted the item, you must have a Sorcerery level of 32 to actually use it.
Second Method
The alternative way to obtain Soul Amalgams is by completing quests and opening chests across the map. Not all reward you with one though, so don’t expect a new Soul Amalgam each time! It’s a good way to collect them passively though, as you grind your Mining and Foraging to level 34.
