There are various creatures and mysteries lurking in 99 Nights in the Forest, with the 99 Nights In The Forest Cultist group being one of them. Watch out, as they aren’t here to make friends, and they see you as a threat. To help you prepare for when this group pays you a visit, it’s worth crafting some items to help your base and getting your hands on some of the weapons so you can defend yourself.

99 Nights In The Forest Cultist

The Cultists are one of the main antagonists in the game. They worship the Deer and see you as a threat, which will make them begin a raid.

This group tends to spawn in the following locations:

  • Cultuist Stronghold
  • Cultist Tree
  • Cultist Hunter Base
  • Night Raid

Cultist Raids

During a raid, the Cultists will attempt to destroy your camp. The first raid happens on day 4, and you will get a message that appears on your screen saying: “Something evil is approaching your campfire… it arrives tonight.” After this, you will get another message saying, “You will be attacked tonight, return to your campfire.” At least you get some time to prepare!

Before they arrive, you will hear drums and a message saying, “A mysterious group approaches your campfire.” The Cultists and the Deer will appear. They will begin to attack you, and you need to kill them. Once killed, the Deer will go back to the forest.

After this first raid, the following ones will have stronger Cultists. Their weapons will become stronger and powerful as the days go on and you progress, so you need to be prepared. Here is what you can expect:

  • Ranged
    • As the name implies, these Cultists have long-range weapons and will attack from a distance.
  • Meelee
    • These Cultists will have basic weapons, such as axes. They will charge directly into your camp.
  • Bomber
    • These appear in later stages of gameplay, as they will throw explosive weapons.

Drops

When you defeat a Cultist, they can drop the following items and loot:

  • Mossy Coins
  • Ammo
  • Cultist Gem
    • The last Cultist you defeat will always drop this.
