After two hours of delay due to computer setup issues, Susiria, Soccer and Grubby made sure MeetYourMakers advanced to the next round.
Susiria and Soccer, an unusual 2on2 pairing, edged out a 2-1 win over the fnatic front runners FoCuS and Shy. Meanwhile, Grubby defeated his Orc counterpart MinHyuk and could them see team mate Susiria seal the deal with his solo win over Shy.
The other half of the brackets showed a honed and confident World Elite after the recent individual successes in PGL. However SK-Gaming started the match strongest as ReiGn trounced InFi 2-0 and the accomplished duo SoJu and ReMinD prevailed over TeD and Like. But despite being up 2-0, SK-Gaming was unable to close.
World Elite recovered after the horrid start and won the remaining solo games. TeD defeated Lyn in the Orc's most favorable match-up, and LiKe was able to outplay the newcomer ViOlet. Sky eventually closed the curtains as ReMinD was unable to stand in his way.
Title holder MeetYourMakers and the Chinese stars went through the first round victorious and could see themselves advance to the winner bracket final.
