After two successful seasons of the Intel Extreme Masters, they decided to drop off their competition of Warcraft III. Instead, they will be adding another game of Blizzard. This time, it is the popular MMORPG World of Warcraft. They already tried the Blizzard game on some major tournaments, including the EM of Dreamhack in Jönköping, Sweden, and also at the Intel Warcraft Weekend in Hamburg Germany.
The other game that the ESL event will host is Counter-Strike. For these two tournaments the price pool will be 750 000 USD. Three continents will fight their way to get a hand on the money. The European and American finals will be held in China and in South Korea where Asians will get there for the individual country Finals. The start of the third season, will be held at CeBIT 2009.
