Hjalmar "DowaQ" Högberg, one of the key players in his team Serious Gaming, has been put beneath the Gosu spotlight for a short interview mostly regarding the WC3L XIV Qualification.

1

Your team srs lost to wNv in yesterday's WC3L Qualification. What was your hopes before the match and what went wrong for you in this encounter?

We all had high hopes coming in to this match and we wanted to win at any price. Since we were up 2-0 overall, we became increasingly cocky, at least that is what I felt. Anyhow, I think we started to slightly underestimate our opponents and became too confident that we would win 3-0.

What do you think of your own performance against MacSed? You've been looking very strong against Human players lately, what is the key behind your success in this matchup? Would you consider it as your best matchup at the moment?

I guess my own performance was a success since I managed to win 2-0. In the past when I wasn't as recognised, Human was my best matchup, but suddenly it turned out to be one of my worst. A few weeks ago I started to put alot of effort in to improving my Human matchup again and it has payed off. At the moment, I'd say it's one of my best matchups, yes.

Any tips or tricks you'd like to share to all the Undead players who are struggling with this matchup?

It is difficult to give tips to other Undead players because you have to discover your own style of play and settle with whatever feels most comfortable. I'd say that if you practice alot, things will solve themselves if you're not all too bad :P

4

What do you think of your team's chances to reach the WC3L now that you've been pushed down to the Loser Brackets? What are your thoughts about your upcoming opponents ieS and is there any player in that team that you'll have to keep an extra eye on?

I still believe we have a very good shot at making it, especially with the addition of our two ex-mTw stars. ieS is certainly a good team which we'll have to be careful against. There is noone in particular I fear in ieS, but I know that players like Sting could cause problems for us, but I think we'll be able to solve them.

To change the subject a bit, what did you think about the opposition in the ESWC Pre-qualfications, which you won, last Sunday? Were you surprised that you faced Fhra in the final instead of SaSe or someone else for that matter?

The opposition in the ESWC Pre-quals was difficult although it wasn't quite as tough as I thought it would be. Luckily, NaNiWa didn't sign up for it which increased my chances of qualifying. Personally, I was hoping that Fhra would qualify, but I didn't think he would be able to make it past SaSe. But since illumize eliminated SaSe, I almost presumed that Fhra would be able to beat illumize.
