During the weekend the Panamerican World Cyber Games was held in Mexico. Six players from Mexico, Brazil and Canada attended which is nothing but a failure as ten countries are included in the championship. USA's topnotch player Nilknarf was one of the players not attending.

This was the first time a Panamerican World Cyber Games was held. The participants are the national winners of each nation in the North and South American area. Sadly, the organization in the USA was horrid, according to PuertoRican at TeamLiquid. USA did not send any player for StarCraft, WarCraft 3 nor Dead or Alive 4, reason for this being the USA organizers not giving out enough information about the event. There were no players from Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela or Guatemala either for some reason. Instead we got to see a tournament with participants from Mexico, Brazil and Canada in a group stage then a double elimination tournament.

Group A consisted of CanucK, PaTo and Ninjagmxamd (Edgardo Flores). The Canadian Undead CanucK won the group winnning 2-0 against both players. PaTo tok the second spot, losing to the Mexican player. Group B had Levin and KiWiKaKi from hoorai and the Mexican player Mosho. Levin advances as first, and KiWiKaKi takes the second. Three hoorai players and one verGe in the playoff.

The semi finals emerged, with CanucK taking down his country-man KiWiKaKi, and PaTo defeating Levin. Unlike the StarCraft tournament a double elimination was played. PaTo takes down CanucK in the Winner Bracket Finals, while Levin defeats KaKi in the Loser Bracket. CanucK then made his way to the grand final after winning against Levin.

Pan-WCG Final 41st hoorai.PaTo$1,500
2nd verGe.CanucK$300
3rd hoorai.Levin-
4th hoorai.KiWiKaWi-Once in the grand final, Bernardo "PaTo" Rodrigues was down 0-1 against CanucK but then won the two remaining games and took the title as the Panamerican World Cyber Games champion. PaTo takes home $1,500 to Brazil. Quite a good event for hoorai, with three of their players in the Top 4.
