One of the worlds most used Warcraft sites, Replays.net, celebrated the new year by arranging a tournament with lots of good players from China, South Korea and Europe.
FoV's final was played against another Korean Undead, Lucifer. FoV had earlier in the tournament eliminated TeD in the quarterfinal, and seemed to have good control over the Undead mirror matchup. Another positive sign of victory for him was the slightly better odds here at GosuBet, 58% spent the money on him, which prove that he for sure was the favorite by many.
Lucifer on the other hand had beat ToD convincingly in the semi final and before that the Chinese Orc player LiKe. Perfect conditions for an epic fight?
#1 Game @ Echo Isles - The two players choose two completely different building orders. FoV went for the more standardized mirror strategy with ghouls, Lich and a fast tech to tier 2 while Lucifer choose to go for quick fiends and a Death Knight. FoV was aggressive through the whole game and was able to win a few minor battles. However, the game settled in his favor for sure after his success of killing three Acolytes at Lucifer's mine in the middle of his tech. Lucifer was never even close to get back into the game after his lack of income and it was only a matter of time before he was forced to type GG and leave the game.
#2 Game @ Turtle Rock - Probably the most entertaining game in the series. However the game started out with both players choosing to go the exact same strategy as in the game before. Stupid by Lucifer some might say, but Turtle Rock suited his fiends very well, and with a lucky crosspawn FoV was unable to play as aggressive as in the earlier game. Despite the spawn Lucifer choose to play safe by building an extra Acolyte before teching.
FoV got himself an expansion while Lucifer made a Frost Wyrm and some destroyers. Some great battles took place and FoV seemed to have the upper hand and was able to defend his own expansion at the same time as he destroyed every attempt from Lucifer to get an extra mine for himself.
Something happened though!, 20 minutes into the game Lucifer won his first battle of the game with an extremely well performed web/run tactic. FoV started to get nervous, complained about lag, lost some units and was forced to take a TP home, which resulted in that all his expansion acolytes got killed. The game developed into a base killing race which Lucifer won quite comfortable.
#3 Game @ Terenas Stand - Unfortunately there is only one possible strategy to do on this map in this matchup and the one who mastered his mass gargoyles best was with no doubt FoV. He had complete map control through the game and wiped out every attempt to an attack or expansion from Lucifer. After a feeble try with fiends Lucifer saw himself beat and left the game.

FoV who just recently joined up with wNv, proved himself in good shape by winning the All Star Series. As opponent in the final stood Lucifer who showed great qualities, which made the match extremely interesting
