This is now the third time that Paper Rex has defeated DRX in a playoff series.

Paper Rex has arguably been one of the best teams to come out from the VCT Pacific League and they have proven just that after a clinical 2-0 victory over DRX. This is the third time that DRX would lose to PRX this season alone, having already lost to them twice during the VCT Pacific League playoffs.

With that win, PRX will now go on to face Fnatic in the upper bracket semifinals, who defeated NRG earlier today. As for DRX, they will get a second chance to fight for their tournament lives against NRG in the lower bracket.

The Singaporean-based org has been a crowd favourite for some time and they gave the fans in Tokyo a real treat in both matches against DRX. The first map took place on Split by DRX's choice and it looked like they would carry their early-round momentum. However, that wasn't the case. With the score at 3-2 in favour of DRX, it was PRX instead who took the next seven rounds in a row.

And while DRX did manage to fight back and win seven rounds in the second half, they couldn't prevent PRX from taking just four rounds to secure the first map. Game two took place on Bind and sort of like the first game, it was PRX who dominated the first half with a score of 8-4 at the break.

But once again, DRX was able to put up a great fight in the second half, which included three straight defuses to even up the score. Sadly, they just didn't have enough to hold back PRX, who was able to rally together in the last three rounds to secure a hard-fought victory against a team they already know so much about.

PRX set the world ablaze since its top-two finish the VCT Stage 2 Masters in Copenhagen last year and has since grown from strength to strength. While the team is still in search of its first-ever international title, they have done tremendously well up to this point, especially for a Southeast Asian-based org.
