With the American team not competing in the upcoming Proleague, EG release the three players that were initially hired with the purpose of strengthening the EG-TL roster. As of December 12th, Revival, Oz and aLive and no longer with the Geniuses.

Of  the three, Revival was the first to join EG as he was acquired in December 2012 as he was snatched from TSL. Revival was also the first to hint his departure from Evil Geniuses by tweeting about this a few days ago.

Revival will not be the only player parting ways with EG, though. The signed in March this year aLive and Oz will also be departing after eight and a half months with the team. Alex Garfield's reasoning for releasing the Korean duo is the same - EG will not be competing in the Proleague and while the players saw decent success in individual leagues it no longer makes sense to keep them as they were recruited for that purpose specifically.

"Letting Oz, aLive, and Revival go was a very difficult decision for our organization, because we felt they were all playing well and doing a great job of representing our team," writes Garfield in the official announcement. "Ultimately, this decision came down to the fact that our initial recruitment of these players was specifically tied to our participation in Proleague.  Given that we will not be part of the 2013-2014 season, it didn’t make sense for us to keep so many players on our Korean roster."
