Day one of DreamHack Winter is over and the tournament will enter its bracket stage tomorrow. Three foreigners and thirteen Koreans is the top sixteen distribution.

Liquid`Taeja and Acer|Innovation took the first two places in the Terran-heavy Group-C-of-Death. The Liquid ace climbed to the top after playing flawlessly in all of his matches and pinned a 8-3 score without a single series loss. The WCS Season 1 champion, on the other hand, had a more difficult time and moved on as second by having a better map score than WCS World  Champion sOs and Millenium's ace ForGG. The triumph of the Koreans left the sole foreigner in the group Sjow out of the tournament after the Swede scored 0-8 in maps.

In Group D, EG's Tyrant Jaedong opened with another strong showing, indicating he's the favorite in yet another DreamHack edition. A 3-0 in series (not counting his walkover against the forfeited Welmu) placed him on the very top of the pool where he was soon join by reigning back-to-back DH:W champion HerO. The Liquid Protoss managed to defeat both of the other two Zergs in the group - namely Leenock and Goswser - and will be playing against his team-mate Taeja in the first round of the bracket stage.

Speaking of the bracket stage, the pairings for it have also been drawn. The matches will start at 12:00 CET, one set played every hour without dual stream overlap.
