Innovation aces SKT once again, STX move on to play KT

STX's ace and WCS Season 1 champion was once again the most valuable member of the team as he sored two maps including the ace one in the second and decisive series against SK Telecom. SouL will have a week's pause before they play KT Rolster on July 20th.

STX SouL came into the second match of the series having a one game lead after yesterday's games and were another victorious performance away from eliminating SK Telecom from the Proleague playoffs. Yet although with momentum on their side, the start of the series was a horrible one for SouL and SK Telecom's Parting and soO (once again being trusted to play mirror matches) opened strong to give Boxer's team a two-map lead.

This is where Innovation stepped in for STX Soul and a win against BW legend Bisu lessened the gap in the score, allowing Trap to come in for the equalizer against Rain. BeSt broke the tie to once again give the edge to SK Telecom but as Fantasy could not close it out against Classic, the series was pushed into an ace match.

For the second time, STX SouL went out with the logical choice in Innovation while SK Telecom decided to use Rain instead of Fantasy, a questionable decision some would say considering how Rain was zero for two in the series and Innovation's 80% TvP win rate.

Those two factors came in to determine the outcome of the map, match and series. Innovation opened with a bunker rush only to immediately switch to defensive posture to shut down Rain's oracles and 2-base chargelot/archon timing, leaving the Protoss and his team out of the competition.

With three wins in four playoff maps played, Innovation narrows the gap between him and Flash for most Proleague wins to just two. He will get the chance to surpass him next week as STX SouL go against KT Rolster to determine who will play Woongjin Stars in the grand final.
