Three days ago the first ever Hauppauge Cup took place, putting several known players and some mysterious smurf accounts against each other for 100€.
Hauppauge Cup is a weekly tournament where players have been given a chance to compete for the prize money. This is under much skepticism; however, the organizers are said to be well known in the German gaming community. With so much money at risk each week, we are likely to see a slight resurrection in activity.
The first week- Strelok wins it
The Ukrainian Warship was put up against several known and possibly unknown players, including ToT)Mondragon(, Lowely[F2F], NonY[Media], ToT)Xiaozi(, 3D.Notforu, and several other popular and skilled players. Many mystery players (meaning using alternative user names on battle.net) gained upset wins, seeing even a player named HengunZerg make it to the finals. Meet Your Makers and Ukraine's very own Strelok took him down three-zero to gain the cash and make history. Time will prove if this will be a mainstay in the community, or if it will crash and burn. The second week of the cup is on March 30th at 14:00 CET. Players need to check in at least fifty minutes prior to that time. There is virtually no limit to the number of players eligible to particpate, so if you think you are skilled enough, use the site listed below and register!
