After participating in the event several times, Iefnaij made it past Arew to take home the win. However, it was the first game of the semifinals that threw him-- "[Zocki.T-ScT-] scouted my proxy robo really quickly and deflected my shuttle from entering his base, it was a tough fight," he tells myStarCraft.de, "It made me sweat."
In the interview, he shares only two points of criticism on the event-- the use of old maps, and the time. While timezones brought the Canadian no particular problem, as he's used to waking up early, he feels it might be a stumbling block for other American players.
Iefnaij wants to continue playing in the cup; he dubs it 'challenging' and a good place to face other skilled foreign players. Finishing closely behind him are Arew, HoRRoR.T, and Zocki.T.
The tenth Hauppauge Cup gets played this Sunday, featuring a E. 100 prize for the winner. Iefnaij is, of course, already signed up, and so far there seems to be little change to the map pool. Actual cup start is at 14:10 with a 13:00 check-in.
