With three wins in a row (although one was a walkover from Colombia), United States has become one of the three nations we are sure to see in the playoffs of this cup - together with Germany and Ukraine - something which was not particularly unexpected says iNcontroL, the US team captain.
"No disrespect to Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico, but they are not going to field a lineup that can compete with the USA." He also says that another expectation was the mannered friendly clan wars, which they also got.
"We were pleasantly pleased when it all came through!"

Cr@yOn 2:0 Ns_1In the first round, iNcontroL and his team demolished Mexico. With only one game lost, they confidently moved on to the second round where they got a walkover after Colombia took the time to think about it.
"We contacted Colombia many times. Whether it be they could not organize, did not want to organize or something else, they simply did not get together. They eventually sent word: they gave us w/o."
Venezuela 0:5 United States

LuIs.CoBrA(vE) 0:2 Skew[Media]The last round the Americans played with confidence and they went home with another 5-0 win, this time versus Venezuela. With that score, they are now unthreatened in their position as group winners, and can start focusing on the next stage, the playoffs.
"We have really good chances, and I am very confident we will win. With a top lineup like Hung/Crayon/Lastgosu/IdrA/Skew/G5/Me and so on, we should be a tough opponent for anyone."
The only two real threats in the playoffs according to iNcontroL are Poland and Germany, with Mondragon and Selector back on the team, though he does not fear the winners of last season, Spain.
"Spain is kinda weak. Zeli is inactive, Squall is relatively inactive, Suker is inactive etc etc. They have some nice young blood but nothing that can compete with the top Nations. They are a tough team regardless though, and can beat anyone on any given day."
When asked who he would like to meet first in the second stage iNcontroL tells us that a team like Sweden might be nice, a team they know they can win against but at the same time is very good.
"Something to get some wind in our sails and give us confidence pushing forward."
Except the three aforementioned nations, there are four directly qualified from last season. If we add Spain, Poland, Russia and Canada to the list we have seven nations, and soon we have five more and a total of twelve teams moving on the next round. The last four spots will be determined after the second placed teams battles it out!
