Last week-end, the ASUS Summer 2006 brought 75 Starcraft player in Moscow, Russia. This tournament, held each season, has been won by yAn three times and by Ex twice. But this time, another Ukrainian player won the tournament and the cash prize, the infamous Protoss player AFM-White-Ra[LKI]. The winner of the Spring tournament, Ex, only finished #2 this time.
Here are the final standings of the ASUS Summer 2006 Tournament:
#1: AFM-White-Ra[LKI]670€
#2: aFz)EX(rox500€
#3: Notforu[S2]350€
#4: 3D.Escape230€
#5: fAke.Mamon.oO 150€
- MYM.Advokate150€
#7: RoX-Bruce[M19] 75€
- Kazuya[S2]75€
We can notice that the top of this tournament is almost the same as the ranking of the Russian WCG, if we replace White-Ra with Androide.
Here is a picture of the three finalists:
Notforu, White-Ra and Ex
Congratulations to those three players, especially Notforu who proves to be a top Russian player, just below Ex and Androide. Unfortunately, Notforu will not be able to fly to the WCG final in Monza because of his lack of passport. This is a very sad news, after Pj and some other Chinese players in 2004, some qualified players won't be able to fly to the WCG Grand Final because of their passport. Instead of Notforu, the player who placed #4 at WCG 3D.Escape (picture) will fly to Italy.
Let's hope that Notforu will get his revenge next year!
