Three Australian players have decided to join the 96-gaming squad, thus creating a new StarCraft team in one of the most respected multi-gaming clans in the world. You must think that the Australian Starcraft scene is nothing without its greatest star Legionnaire (picture), well here is a good news for you.
Here are the three players who have joined this squad:
» Justin "Gabriel" Chunghin
» Ilkan "Existent" Gok
For those who wonder if this team will be composed of Australian players only, and who may be interested in joining this clan, 96-gaming has announced that it was "aiming to recruit the best of gamers from europe, america and asia with the eventual goal to be recognised as one of the best starcraft teams around". Despite the recent death of FanatiC, the arrival of a new top Starcraft team is a really great news.
Here is a piece of Legionnaire's short interview by 96-gaming:
Do you have any particular reason why you chose 96-Gaming?
It has a number of the top gamers in Australia spread over a number of games, so it’s a good choice. And I feel that in joining, I can help promote competitive gaming to a greater degree, so it seemed like a natural choice.
What are your gaming goals for the rest of the year and beyond?
Main goals are, to win WCG Australia again. Then do as well as I can in the wcg finals in Italy. The same goes for the IEST finals in November.
How does the future look for Starcraft in Australia and also around the world?
Well Starcraft is one of the oldest games still used in the competitive circuit, in Australia it’s never been huge like some other games due to the steep learning curve to be really good. But the community is still strong, and internationally it is still growing, particularly in Asia.
If you had the chance, would you play in Asia again?
In November I’ll be participating in the IEST tournament in china (international electronic sports tournament). But I had a lot of fun during my time progaming in Korea and I’m currently focused on my university studies, so I currently have no plans to return permanently.
