The very talented Czech programmer Ashur didn't need more than a couple of hours or so to update the maphack once again. It is now working with the new 1.12b patch. All for the sake to help us out to create what we seem to need very much these days; antihacks!
First of all, I'll quote a comment made by Ashur in a previous news, which you can read » here.
#6 CDS)Ashur @ 2005-02-18 21:37:08 Not creating MH for public or private, just to help TTA making antihack and also for my pleasure of making it (not using it). There is also a lot of hacks you cannot even imagine, just think. Onyone can use them on their own, or in a close group. Want antihack?
Well, this is how it looks. The first working hack for version 1.12b.
I asked Ashur about how long it actually did take him to make it.
How long did it take to make the hack work for 1.12a when, that patch came out?
I made an update from a 1.11b hack. So it took about one day (5 hours of time) to fully update my program.
And from 1.12a to 1.12b?
It is not yet completely finished, I will continue the work tomorrow. The maphack function (read displaying enemy) is most hard work, because it can work, but it will drop you from Battle.net, so it is necessary to test it on LAN if it works 100% on BNet. It is hard to say, it can be one day or three. After finishing that, I will send my program (some parts) to TravelToAiur to help him updating BWScanner. In fact, there are many ways you can create maphacks on, and BWScanner must check all of them.
Ashur also says that the only way to be completely sure that the opponent is not hacking is through programs such as BWScanner or the PGTour and NeoGame-I launchers.
