[s]interview[/s]

GosuGamers are currently asking as many attendants of WCG as possible some questions and making mini interviews out of them. Today it was no one else than the Norweigan random player Eriador who gave us a couple of minutes of his precious time.

Eriador at the Nordic WCG qualifications

What was your best moment?
I really don't know, but I felt oh so good after beating HellGhost and then even better after I beat Methos, because I was like 90% certain I had made it out of the group then.

Do you think you got a big advantage in those games because of your randoming?
Nah, not against HellGhost at least. I got lucky with positions, but I also ended up with the race I wanted the least, which is why winning felt so good. Against Methos I won PvZ on Martian Cross and that happened to be the match up I wanted against him.

Your worst moment?
Waking up before playing Testie and reading "09:56" on the clock next to me. I was supposed to play at 10:00. I had to sprint and get a cab immediately. I was in such a hurry that I didn't even put on socks before I entered the cab. Luckily they didn't disqualify me.

Do you think that affected the score in that match (0-2 loss)?
Everything that day affected my loss.

I entered the cab at like 09:58 maybe. I told the taxi driver where to go. She's from eastern Europe and drives the wrong direction. I then tell her that she's driving wrong, and she informs me that she doesn't know the location of where I'm going to. I tell her to drive to city hall, which was pretty close by. Then, on the way there, a guy has a fucking heart attack in the middle of the street, delaying me even further. Not to mention that 911 was busy when I tried calling them.

Then I had to sprint as hard as I could to get to the playing area at time, I barely get time to sit down before we start. Didn't get to adjust mouse settings and I was sort of catching my breath. In addition I get random Terran versus random Zerg, cross positions, which was the worst match up possible and I was dead in 5 minutes. Then I happened to play bad in addition.

And in game 2, I get to adjust mouse speed and drink a red bull, but I got ZvP on Gorky and Testie was just not going to lose PvZ on Gorky. I felt I played better than him in that game though, but it was just too hard against someone as good as him.

I mean I don’t wan to give excuses, but I have an ungodly amount of excuses for those two games. I think Testie is better than me, but if he had gotten my preparation and my match ups and I got his, I would've won 2-0.

Your worst mistake?
Picking race versus Day[9]. Even though I flipped a coin to determine whether I was going to random or racepick, I ended up picking, and that fucked my karma hard.

What was your favourite quote?
I have no idea. I can't really remember. But most likely something said by some French-Canadian guy, can't even remember his name, but my god he was a cool guy.

The funniest moment?
Probably something that happened while hanging out with the Canadians, but once again I can't put my finger on anything specific. They were the most fun crowd to be with though.

What are your future plans like?
I don't have plans and I just go wherever I end up being taken, by whatever takes me wherever I go. Whatever happens happens.

If you had the chance to go to WCG 2005, would you take it?
Oh, oh, oh, yes! I might even practice. WCG was a looooot of fun.

Thank you for your time, any shootouts?
No problem, and to the one person absent from WCG, mucho <3 to zia.
