Meanwhile, PSG Talon have dropped to the Lower Bracket Finals.

The race to the Grand Finals of the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) Season Finals has taken shape, and CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) are the first team to secure their place.

It was a high-stakes clash between two of the region’s heavyweights, as CFO took down PSG Talon 3-1 in the Upper Bracket Final. The victory books CFO’s ticket to the Grand Finals, while PSG Talon Talon now face the grind of the lower bracket.

CFO entered the playoffs with momentum firmly on their side. Their dominant run in the Contender Group during the Group Stage meant they only needed to topple one team to reach the Upper Bracket Final. That challenge came in the form of Team Secret Whales, who they edged out 2-1 to set up the showdown with PSG Talon.

PSG Talon’s path was far more arduous. After falling out of the Contender Bracket, they fought through the Group Breaker and the Breakout Group to secure a playoffs berth. Once there, they made a statement, sweeping both Vietnamese representatives, MGN Vikings Esports and GAM Esports with back-to-back 2-0 wins. Riding that momentum, they entered the clash with CFO full of confidence.

Here’s how the matches between CBTC Flying Oyster and PSG Talon went:

PSG Talon came out swinging in the first game, applying pressure from the laning phase and maintaining control across the map.Doggo kept CFO in the game with clever plays, but it wasn’t enough to stop PSG Talon’s snowball. Yi-Tang “Maple” Huang’s Aurora and Yu-Hung “Betty” Lu’s Corki piled on the damage, and after 36 minutes, PSG Talon closed out the opener with a 27–9 kill lead and a 13,000 gold advantage.

CFO answered with a dominant performance of their own in the second game. Early kills in the jungle and mid lane set the tone, as the team rotated cleanly around the map and forced PSG Talon into isolated fights. CFO claimed every major objective, leaving PSG Talon with nothing to contest. After 30 minutes, they evened the series with a 25–5 kill lead and a 15,000 gold gap.

The third game was a long back-and-forth between teams. CFO started strong, but PSG Talon clawed their way back, even seizing the gold lead at points. As the game dragged past 40 minutes, however, CFO’s scaling champions came online. A crucial Ocean Soul steal and a successful Baron secured their push down mid, just as PSG Talon tried to split the map by targeting inhibitor turrets. After an exhausting 47 minutes with kills tied 12–12, CFO struck the final blow to take the lead in the series.

Backs against the wall, PSG Talon fought hard to stay alive in the fourth game, dictating the pace for much of the laning phase. Yet Doggo’s Caitlyn grew steadily stronger, slowing PSG Talon’s attempts to run away with the lead.

A chaotic jungle fight flipped the game on its head as CFO zeroed in on Hau-Hsuan “Karsa” Hung, PSG Talon’s jungler. With no Smite left to contest, PSG Talon  had no way to challenge Baron, and CFO secured it uncontested. From there, they marched down the map and, after 30 minutes with a 14–8 kill score, closed the game to lock in the 3-1 series win.

With this win, CBTC Flying Oysters advance to the LCP Grand Finals on Sunday, 21 September, where they will face the winners of the Lower Bracket Final. Doggo was named Player of the Match for his consistent impact and sharp decision-making throughout the series.

Meanwhile, PSG Talon Talon drop to the Lower Bracket Final, where they must battle the winner of the semifinal clash between GAM Esports and Secret Whales.
