TL finds a much-needed win against IMT; CLG grind out a victory against P1 (NA LCS W6D1 Recap)

Immortals vs. Team Liquid
At 2-8, Team Liquid needed to make a drastic change going into this week or face relegation. Swapping Piglet to midlane and bringing in an untested ADC player seemed almost too drastic, but it worked out for TL in their series against Immortals. It took some time for Liquid to warm up into their new roles, but once Piglet got going he was a nightmare for IMT. Game 2 was a pretty solid win, and Game 3 was a snowball-fest that ultimately resulted in Liquid taking home the victory.
Apparently ADC mechanics translate pretty well into the midlane. Piglet had a fantastic outing today, especially on his game 3 Cassiopeia, and managed to pick up a 20/4/19 KDA with the most damage dealt to champions on his team. Youngbin meanwhile was a bit of a disappointment in the botlane, but warmed to the role as time went on and was invaluable to TL's success in game 3. IMT's Dardoch started the series with excellent plays, but ultimately tilted just a little too much and ended up with disappointing performances in the final two games.
Phoenix1 vs. Counter Logic Gaming
Our second series of the day featured another reverse sweep, this one orchestrated by Counter Logic Gaming. After a nightmarish game 1 in which Meteos ran rampant over their team, CLG made some necessary adjustments and came back strong. With Olaf off the table and solid compositions, CLG took game 2 with comparative ease and eventually closed out the series with solid teamfighting in game 3.
Huhi's Aurelion Sol doesn't always come out, but when it does it's a fantastic sight. Perfectly-placed Voice of Lights and Starsurges gave CLG the CC-chains they needed to take victory in game 3. We also have to mention Stixxay - a disappointing game 1 performance didn't stop him from going deathless in the next two games while dealing 40k damage to champions. Phoenix1's Meteos had a barn-burner of a game 1 on Olaf, but his Rengar in the subsequent matches was considerably worse and he ultimately couldn't help his team get out to a good start.
