MDL Chengdu Major has hit the halfway mark -- eight teams down, eight left standing.
The remaining teams at MDL Chengdu Major have secured top eight placements. They will go home with nothing less than a whopping 450 DPC points and are still in contention for the grand prize and title honors.
Unfortunately, that doesn't include Fnatic or Fighting Pandas who both took a hit yesterday. Fnatic took a fast and furious one-sided victory over Invictus Gaming in just 22 minutes, taking the lead in their series. The second two games belonged all to iG though, as they came out very aggressive against Fnatic's late-game carries and gave the SEA no room to breathe or farm enough to allow their carry to come online. With the reverse sweep, iG progressed further in the playoffs.
beastcoast gave a very dominant first game performance, overpowering EE and Company in just 26 minutes. Taking one of their signature heroes - WraithKing in the second game, beastcoast constantly punished Fighting Pandas for their mistake. Bad fight after bad fight was enough for the NA team to succumb to the South American sweethearts. In a 2:0 sweep beastcoast secured another top 8 finish after TI9 to prove they are from among the best of the best.
After a day off, the action resumes with three sets of best-of-three lower bracket elimination series.
