BOOM Esports successfully defeated Blacklist International in the grand finals of the Philippines Kings League Spring 2025.
BOOM Esports successfully defeated Blacklist International in the grand finals of the Honor of Kings Philippines Kings League (PKL) Spring 2025. The Hungry Beast won the Ultimate Battle against Blacklist International, taking them down in the final game of the season to win 4-3. With their victory, BOOM Esports qualified for the Honor of Kings World Cup in the Esports World Cup as the top seed from the Philippines.
BOOM Esports' road to the grand finals wasn't a smooth one, dropping to the lower bracket after losing to Blacklist International in the upper bracket finals. However, they successfully defeated ACT Esports Club in the lower bracket finals to earn a rematch against Blacklist International in the championship round.
In the grand finals, things looked to be a repeat of the upper bracket final as Blacklist International held a commanding 3-1 lead after the first four games. However, BOOM managed to level the score to 3-3 after the next two games to force an Ultimate Battle against the regular season champion.
In the final game of the tournament, both teams grabbed Arli and Mai Shiranui for their respective mid lane and farm lane. However, Blacklist International settled for Sun Ce, Luna, and Zhang Fei for the rest of their players, while BOOM Esports took Mayenne, Augran, and Dyadya. It was a 14-minute slugfest, but when the dust settled it was BOOM Esports that took down Blacklist International's core to win the inaugural PKL title.
Aside from BOOM Esports, Blacklist International and ACT Esports Club also got themselves a ticket to the Honor of Kings World Cup, hosted as part of the Esports World Cup 2025 in Saudi Arabia. They will represent PKL against the best Honor of Kings teams from all around the world.
