Following a strong debut performance at the Intel Extreme Masters event in Cologne, Germany, H2K Gaming announces the official signing of Konstantinos “Forg1ven” Tzortziou for the 2016 season.
After losing a vast majority of its roster, H2K had made the choice to sign several star European talents, most notably the top Attack Damage Carry player known as Forg1ven. Formerly playing for high profile teams such as SK Gaming and Gambit Gaming, Forg1ven is seen as one of EU’s top ADC talents, despite lacking any notable achievements in recent seasons.
With only days of practice under their belts, H2K’s newest roster had a promising start at IEM when they defeated North American all-stars Cloud 9 2-1 in the quarterfinals. They went on to be defeated 1-2 by the eventual tournament victors, Korea’s challenger series team Ever.
Less than a week later, H2K has officially announced that they will continue to have Forg1ven in their roster with the sole intention of becoming one of the top Western teams for League of Legends. Forg1ven himself took to Facebook to follow up on the announcement. He mentions having also received offers from both NA and Korea, but decided to stay on H2K due to feeling their team strength and having confidence to achieve great things with the organization.
H2K’s future is looking quite bright. With so many changes happening within the EU League Championship Series, it will be interesting to see if this team will be able to match up with powerhouse teams such as Fnatic and Origen. It is still unknown who they will be running as their Jungle and Support players, but they will surely be top players. Be sure to tune in to see H2K and other high performance teams as the EU LCS begins on January 14th, 2016.
