In Los Angeles, California residing in the "Staples Center", home of NBA's Los Angeles Lakers, The best teams in the world will compete to take over Season 3.    

A new threshold has been reached for League of Legends eSports with one of the most suitable venues for such an epic finale to the current back and forth season across all regions.  Based on the results at the All-Star tournament which acquired more than 18 million unique viewers, 3 regions will have 3 teams entering, meaning North America, Europe, and Korea will star 3 teams while Southeast Asia and China will host 2 each

A International Wildcard will be granted access to participate in the Season 3 World Championships as well based on the results of the winner at Gamescom.  All of the teams who have qualified will appear in LA on September 16th for the start of the Playoffs.  The semi-finals will be held at a different venue in the USC Galen Center.  The winner of the World Championships will take home $1,000,000, making the total Season 3 prize pool amount to $8,000,000.

Though more details such as times and dates will be revealed in the future, we know that the Season 3 World Champions will have their name etched on the Summoner's Cup along with the Season 1 and Season 2 champions respectively, Fnatic and Taipei Assassins.
