Final four prepare for HGC playoffs

After two long days of group stages, the Summer Global Championship is down to four teams that will be competing in the playoffs where only one will be crowned the world champion.

The second round of group stages has wrapped up for the Summer Global Championship and the playoff bracket has been finalized. Out of the original 12 teams only four have made it through to the playoffs and they'll compete on Monday to determine who can claim the title of best Heroes of the Storm team in the world.

The second Group A stage wrapped up on Saturday and the Korean and Chinese teams absolutely dominated the bracket. eStar beat Please Buff Arthas 2-0 and MVP Black beat Naventic 2-0 as well. In the second round of the group MVP Black beat eStar 2-1, sending eStar to to the lower bracket finales. eStar took won the second game of the series over MVP Black and looked very good, but MVP came back in the third game to win in only 8:27. 

Naventic had a convincing 2-0 win over PBA in the first round of the lower bracket, but they couldn't finish it out. eStar went 2-0 over Naventic in the last series on Friday to become the second team from Group A to qualify for the playoffs. 

The second Group B stage happened Sunday and Tempest and mYinsanity advanced to the playoffs. The EU rivalry was alive seeing as Dignitas fell 0-2 to mYi in the first round of the group, and in the lower bracket finals. After mYi beat Dignitas the first time they went on to lose 2-0 to Tempest. Dignitas beat out X-Team in the first round of the lower bracket, but fell 0-2 again to mYi in the finals. 

mYinsanity became the only western team to make it out of the group stages and into the playoffs. The second game in the lower bracket series with Dig and mYi lasted 31 minutes and came down to mYi wiping Dig in a late game fight.

The playoffs start Monday and at this point it's anyone's game. Tempest and eStar is bound to be a great series to watch, and mYi will try to keep the EU hopes alive against MVP Black in the first round of the playoffs. All of the playoff games will be Bo5 series including the grand finale. After a week of competition it all comes down to the playoffs where only one team will come out on top.
