In the middle of May, Blizzard announced that the Heroes of the Storm World Championship will be held at BlizzCon 2015. With a prize pool of 1.2 million dollars and teams from South Korea, Europe, North America, China and Taiwan clashing, this promises to be a memorable first World Championship for Blizzard's Hero Brawler.
Heroes of the Storm has gone a long way since its announcement as a project at Blizzcon five years ago, and now is an officially released game. There is little time to waste, it already has an established e-sports infrastructure and soon we will get to see the best teams battle for glory. We are thrilled to see how these international teams perform against each other and how our rankings change.
The first announced events of the Road to Blizzcon are the North American Open events with a total prize pool of 75,000 dollars. Having qualified through the North American Open, the five best North American teams will participate in the Americas Championship where they will play against the best teams from Latin America, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand
In order to participate, a team may contain up to two non-citizens of the USA or Canada, and each player should own at least 14 heroes, since the games will feature four bans in total (two for each team).
