Here are the winners of our August card design contest

These are the top three submissions voted by you. Their creators will be getting some sweet Hearthstone loot from us!
Argent Hippogryph is our community-voted winner for August. A 4-mana 3/3 minion, the Hippogryph isn't really "inspiration" per se but works with other inspire minions on the field. It has a cool mana cost reduction effect in the sense that you cannot play it as a 2-mana body but can get two mana back to use for your hero power if an Inspire minion is on the board.
Argent Hippogryph's creator wins a Hearthstone throw pillow from us.
Second in our contest came the legendary Dragon Knight. A powerful mid to late game minion, the 5/5 mana body for 6 mana summons Dragons into the battlefield when you trigger Inspire.
It sounds strong, and it very well could be depending on the pool of minions Dragon Knight taps from (just collectibles or collectibles + uncollectibles). While most of the dragons are big and scary, a lot of them are played for their Battlecry effects ([card]Twilight Drake[/card], [card]Twilight Guardian[/card]) and are significantly weaker when not played from the hand. This card is also self-balancing in the long run in the sense that the more early game dragons are released, the less attractive it becomes. Just like [card]Wilfred Fizzlebang[/card] who can summon free giants, Dragon Knight is more of an 8-drop than a 6-drop.
Its creator goes home with a Hearthstone mug from us!
Finally, we have Vindicator Maraad in third place. Maraad comes with the unique mechanic of giving your hero Divine Shield. Not Immune, just protection from the first source of damage. This brings a lot of defensive power for Paladin against a variety of threats - heavy-hitting mid-range decks or even the burst of Freeze Mages or Malylocks later in the game. It doesn't make the Paladin immortal like [card]Ice Block[/card], but can buy just enough time for a big heal or taunting up.
Maraad's creator shall enjoy a Hearthstone keychain!
Congratulations to the three winners, who will be contacted by us next week. The theme for the September contest will be revealed tomorrow, so stay tuned!
