Looking to win his second Challengestone title: Brian Kibler
The second edition of the well-received deckbuilding tournament is happening on June 27/28.
Challengestone is a tournament series with a specific set of rules which restricts the deckbuilding in some way and changes from tournament to tournament. The first edition's rule was to use a) only spells with even mana cost and b) only minions with odd attack for all three decks, alongside weapons. The challenge for the second tournament has yet to be revealed.
Of Challengestone #1's eight invited players, Brian Kibler took a close 4-3 victory in the finals over Jeffrey "Trump" Shih. Both of these players have been reinvited to the upcoming edition which features a similar prize pool: 1,800$ go to the winner, 600$ to the runner-up and 300$ to each of the semifinals' losers.
It is yet uncertain how many and which players are going to be invited to the tournament, but presumably the player pool will feature eight faces once more. Popular streamer Octavian "Kripparian" Morosan, father figure of the tournament and designer for the challenges, will return to the casting desk for the event.
