Mere days after he left Curse, Janne "Savjz" Mikkonen joins Jason "Amaz" Chan at Team Liquid as the second player for the horseheads.
Janne "Savjz" Mikkonen makes his team jump and signs for yet another progaming powerhouse. After starting his Hearthstone career in DogeHouse - one of the first and most established Hearthstone teams of the early days - Savjz then moved out to become the captain of the newly-founded Team Curse in April. Mikkonen stayed with the Americans for just under four months before he announced his departure from the black-and-orange squad in the last days of July.
With so many renowned brands entering Hearthstone, speculations were abound regarding where the talented constructed player will end up. Today, Savjz's move was revealed - Mikkonen will be signing with Team Liquid, teaming up with IEM Shenzhen and Millenium Cup champion Amaz.
Savjz brings a handful of achievements to Liquid himself. Despite not having the strongest days in June and July, Savjz's earlier career days include the $10,000 championship of OGN Invitational, second place at Tavern Takeover 1 as well as the first place of the Hearth2p EU vs CN Masters European qualifier.
"It has been nearly two months since we added Amaz as our first player for LiquidHearth, and the wait was worth it," writes Liquid CEO Victor Goosens. "Since then, we had every intention on adding more players but it was all about getting the right ones, and I believe we've succeeded in that by bringing on Savjz."
For Savjz, it will be a busy weekend representing his new colors. The Finn might've surrendered the KOTH crown to Tranzit but he's scheduled to play in the VGVN Naxxramas tournament in a group with Reynad, Forsen and Lucky and also in the CoolerMaster showmatch against Reynad in a few hours.
