What is Palworld Online?

Palworld Online is a mobile spin-off of Pocketpair’s hit monster-taming survival game, developed and published by Garena. According to a news release, the MMO will feature a new narrative setting separate from the main game, with a seamless open world for players to explore. Garena’s president Terry Zhao said of the announcement:

“Palworld is a widely recognized IP, and we see an opportunity to bring the essence of the PC title to mobile in a way that encourages players to connect and venture together. Working closely with Pocketpair, we are focused on preserving the depth, immersion, and freedom that define Palworld, while thoughtfully optimising the experience for mobile play.”

Palworld Online will feature a large open world filled with secrets and challenges, with players being able to capture and raise Pals, while also unlocking new regions on the map. New side stories will also be available, on top of the game’s original story.

The game will also feature multiplayer elements much like the original game, allowing players to form groups, build shared bases, and tackle PvE encounters together or battle each other in PvP. Both competitive and co-operative experiences will be available in the game.

Palworld Online will also bring back the original game’s survival and crafting elements, allowing players to build a life for themselves in a shared home base. Pals can be deployed to automate production and defend settlements, while players focus on crafting their home.

Unlike Palworld, Palworld Online is being developed with mobile accessibility in mind. Its gameplay will be specifically optimised for mobile platforms, with touch-friendly UI and optional one-tap controls.

On the announcement, Pocketpair’s CEO Takuro Mizobe said:

“Garena has extensive experience in global publishing, localisation, and live operations for mobile games. We are pleased to work with Garena on the licensed development of Palworld Online and look forward to seeing a new Palworld experience brought to players worldwide.”

Palworld Online will launch sometime in 2026.
