Leaked prices hint at what gamers might have to pay for the upcoming handheld from ROG and Xbox.

A recent alleged leak may have revealed the expected pricing for ASUS and Xbox’s upcoming handheld gaming devices, the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, ahead of their official launch at the end of 2025.

The pricing details were first spotted by Spanish outlet 3DJuegos, which discovered the information through Google’s product metadata.

ASUS and Microsoft first teased their collaboration on a handheld Xbox gaming device in April 2025, when ASUS ROG released a short video suggesting that a new portable product was in the works. The teaser sparked speculation about whether this would be a dedicated Xbox handheld, or a new variant of the ROG Ally series.

The official announcement came two months later, in June 2025, confirming that two devices, the ROG Xbox Ally and the more advanced ROG Xbox Ally X, would be released by the end of the year. Microsoft stated that the handhelds would run a custom version of Windows 11 with an Xbox-focused full-screen interface designed to unify Xbox, Game Pass, and other digital storefronts.

The new ROG Ally models are reportedly set for €599 and €899

According to the leak, the standard ROG Xbox Ally model is listed at €599, while the high-end ROG Xbox Ally X is expected to retail for €899.

While ASUS has yet to officially confirm the pricing, the leaked listings briefly appeared on the company’s official channels, suggesting a possible early reveal due to a publishing error. The base price of €599 converts to approximately US$699, while the Ally X’s €899 price point is equivalent to around US$1,050.

These figures align closely with the current pricing structure of the original ASUS ROG Ally lineup in Europe, indicating that ASUS may follow a similar pricing strategy for its Xbox-branded handhelds.

Microsoft previously announced the ROG Xbox Ally line as a result of a collaboration with ASUS, bringing an “Xbox full screen experience” to handheld devices. Both models are expected to run a customised version of Windows 11 that integrates platforms such as Xbox, Game Pass, and Battle.net into a unified interface.

According to Xbox, these are the key specifications of the two models:

  • ROG Xbox Ally: Equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage. This configuration is designed to balance performance and power efficiency for extended battery life without compromising gameplay.
  • ROG Xbox Ally X: Powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, with 24GB of high-speed RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. This model is built to support higher frame rates, sharper visuals, and enhanced processing capabilities for gaming and multitasking.

Despite differences in performance, both versions aim to deliver a tailored gaming experience with seamless access to major digital storefronts. For context, the original ROG Ally released in 2023 featured a Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, and a 40Wh battery. These were solid specs at the time, but with limited battery life.

The 2024 ROG Ally X refresh kept the same Z1 Extreme processor but introduced several upgrades, including 24GB of faster LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, a full-sized 1TB M.2 2280 SSD, and a much larger 80Wh battery, while also improving thermal design and ergonomics. Compared to these previous models, the 2025 ROG Xbox Ally line introduces not just new hardware configurations but also a custom Xbox-centric interface layered over Windows 11, alongside notable increases in battery capacity and RAM in the top-end model.

Although the leaked prices offer a strong indication of what to expect, ASUS and Microsoft have not yet made a formal announcement. Until then, the figures remain unconfirmed. However, with the projected release date set for late 2025, more concrete details are expected to surface in the coming months.
