Hi! Thanks for accepting this interview, LongDD.
Hi
First of all, we want to confirm with you that you are going back to LGD as coach.
Yes that is true. I just arrived at their gaming house just moments ago. The LGD team invited me to join them again. This is an honor for me, and I see them as friends. I’ll do what I can to help them.
According to information we have, you helping out LGD just for a short period of time. What does this mean?
It simply means that I will be helping them through the TI3 qualifiers, analysing the games and our opponents and giving them advice on what they should do better.
When you left LGD last time, all sorts of rumors were spread around; some even implied physical violence. Could you tell us what actually happened back then?
It is not as dramatic as people say it is. Nothing much happened and it was just a plain roster change. Everything went rather peacefully.
Yes that agrees with the statement from LGD officials. But we still have a question about this; if it was simply a roster change, why did not LGD do it earlier before the TI3 invitations were sent. Instead, they changed the roster after distribution of invitations, leading to loss of direct invitation to TI3.
I guess the team thinks my personal skills were not good enough for TI3. It’s just bad timing that the decision (of changing the roster) was made after TI3 invitations.
What do you think of the new LGD team? What are your thoughts on LGD losing to VG two days ago?
I have a lot of faith in the current LGD team. The main reason they lost to Vici Gaming in Dta 2 Super League is due to lack of preparation. After all, they just reinstated dd a few days ago.
Many pointed out that in the game versus VG,, LGD’s drafting was hardly solid and probably was the cause of the loss. Before leaving the team, you were drafting for LGD. What are your thoughts on LGD’s drafting after your departure?
Xiao8 is the guy mainly responsible for the drafting now. I agree that the loss to VG was partly because of bad drafting. I warned them about the Chaos Knight – Io combo prior to the game but it seems like they forgot about it. VG got lucky that LGD let wisp through.
So what is the focus of your training at the moment?
I’m mainly focused on trilane versus trilane situations. We sit down and summarize what has happened after each training,
So what are your plans after the TI3 qualifier ends? Will you be returning to the professional scene?
No, I have no plans to be pro. I’m looking more at shoutcasting and producing VODs.
I’m sure LGD has been following the Western qualifier of TI3 and there were a lot of unorthodox picks to say the least. A great example here is Slark. Do you have any thoughts on these picks?
I would say these picks are questionable. However, considering the difference in playstyle between the Western and Eastern scene, there is only so much I can say.
Suppose, in G-1 League LAN finals, teams such as Alliance and Liquid use Slark as solo mid what would be your response?
I will have the team play the normal draft and strat. We won’t be making any major changes unless top teams in China like iG started using these strategies. We’ll think of a counter on-the-fly if we were to see it in G-1 and analyze it later.
So what do you think of LGD’s chances of winning against Alliance and Team Liquid?
They are both very strong teams. I’d say our chances of winning are very slim, about 20%-30% chance of winning.
What about the Eastern qualifiers?
99% chance on winning.
Wow you’re very confident. So among the teams in the Eastern Qualifiers, which one is the biggest threat to LGD?
All of the invitees are fairly strong teams. They are all threatening in some sense. We will play our best and treat them equally.

Picture provided by LGD-GamingWhat has changed since you left LGD?
Oh they actually moved into a new gaming house now. It's not a very big house. The ground floor is used as a training room, and the second floor is for accommodations. I have not been to the second floor yet. We are now separated from LGD.Int. They are still staying in the old base.
Since you will be facing a lot of the Chinese teams in the qualifier and in G-1 League, which teams are LGD training against recently?
We still mostly train with the Chinese teams. Teams like VG, Rising Stars, Rattlesnake, DK and iG.
What are LGD’s winning rates against these teams?
I’m not exactly sure since I have just arrived. Sorry.
Let’s talk about something else. Rumors indicate that you have financial difficulties after leaving LGD; some were even saying that you are going back to LGD completely due to financial deficiencies. What is your response to these rumors?
I have to admit that I do have financial difficulties. However, this is not the reason I am back in LGD. I am here because I want to test if I fit into the role of coaching. I’m also here to help my friends out.
The official reason for roster change given by LGD was your dropping personal skills. What do you think?
Yea, I’m not as good as I used to be but I still think my skills are sufficient to compete on a high level. I still have steady LAN game performance as well as a good understanding of the game.
If you get a chance of coaching any of the Chinese professional teams, which team would you like to coach?
I would say either iG or DK. I chose iG and DK because they are really strong teams, and I think we can learn from each other.
Thank you again for taking this interview. Any shout-outs to our viewers and your fans?
Hope you can all support me on my future efforts. Thank you.
