BLAST Slam V to be held in Chengdu, China this December

BLAST announces Chengdu, China as the location for its fifth Dota 2 tournament at the end of this year.
Renowned tournament organiser BLAST has announced the next destination in its high-profile Dota 2 tournament series. The fifth edition of the BLAST Slam series, BLAST Slam V, is set to take place in Chengdu, China from 25 November to 7 December.
The tournament will feature the standard US$1 million prize pool and will welcome a live audience at the Wuliangye Culture & Sports Center from 5 to 7 December. Full details regarding participating teams, format, and ticket sales have yet to be revealed.
BLAST had only entered the professional Dota 2 scene in November of last year, hosting its first three events offline at its Copenhagen studio. While fans were able to watch players compete on stage, the events did not feature a live audience.
Approaching its second year in Dota 2, BLAST announced an exciting shift. Beginning with the fourth edition, the BLAST Slam series will start welcoming live spectators. BLAST Slam IV, scheduled to run from 28 October to 9 November, will host 12 top-tier teams and a passionate Southeast Asian crowd at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
And even before that event kicks off, BLAST has revealed the series’ next destination: Chengdu, China, where the tournament will cap off the year. It’s expected to be a pivotal event, likely shaping the tone of the 2026 competitive season. Participating teams will most likely be confirmed following the post-The International roster shuffle.
For those eagerly awaiting ticket sales, BLAST has confirmed that details will be released soon.
More tournaments scheduled for 2025’s final quarter
BLAST Slam V joins an already packed tournament lineup set for the final months of the year, with other major organisers like PGL and ESL having already scheduled their own million-dollar events during this period.
Here are all upcoming Dota 2 tournaments for the rest of 2025:
- BLAST Slam IV: 28 Oct - 9 Nov
- PGL Wallachia Season 6: 15 - 23 Nov
- BLAST Slam V: 25 Nov - 7 Dec

While these tournaments are months away, the most significant Dota 2 event is just on the horizon. On 4 September, 16 of the world’s best teams will clash in Hamburg, Germany, to win The International 2025 and claim the world champion title.
