Evil Geniuses are through to the next round at the Dota 2 Asia Championships

The second game of day tw0 at the Dota 2 Asia Championships would see Evil Geniuses and Team Faceless fight it out for a spot in the next round of the lower bracket.
After a stunning performance in their best-of-one series yesterday, Evil Geniuses would be looking to continue on where they left off and claim a spot in the next round to face Newbee. Standing in their way would be Team Faceless who pulled of what was possibly one of the biggest upsets we’ve seen this far at the Dota 2 Asia Championships, as they eliminated Team Liquid. Faceless would be searching for a repeat performance to keep the SEA dream alive.
Game One
EG were quick to claim first blood, killing off the Earth Spirit within the first two minutes of the game. Ludwig "Zai" Wahlberg, on the Kunkka, was making the better rotations, ensuring EG would hold a 4-2 lead on the scoreboard at the 10 minute mark. With fifteen minutes passed, the game was still fairly even, although EG still seemed to have more control of the game. But as EG gained confidence, they seemed to make errors, allowing Faceless a chance to catch up.
After regaining their composure, EG claimed an aegis followed by a few kills soon after as Faceless looked to make an aggressive play. This gave EG the opportunity to push down three outer towers from the Dire side and claim complete map control. With a little over thirty minutes passed, EG claimed another aegis and looked set to take victory in game one.
While Faceless made a stand, they seemed to not be equipped to deal with Artour "Arteezy" Babaev's Lifestealer, as EG dropped the top barracks. However, Anucha "Jabz" Jivarong on the Ember Spirit along with his team, begun to make their way back into the game, but EG were relentless and would assault the high ground constantly, looking to claim mega creeps.
The Untouchable Arteezy
Faceless managed to hold their ground and in a massive fight, they completely wiped the Radiant team before running down mid and claiming the melee barracks. But it was all too little too late for Faceless as EG claimed mega creeps at fifty-five minutes and soon after this Team Faceless had to call GG.
Game Two
Game two of the series would be make or break for Faceless as their tournament journey was on the line – a loss would see them exit DAC while a win for them would see a decisive game three. EG once again drew first blood, and were easily winning all lanes before the five minute point had come around. The Radiant were ceaseless in their pressure around the map, claiming kills constantly and pushing towers with ease. With barely more than 10 minutes passed EG were 8-0 up on the scoreboard and did not look like letting up.
With an aegis in hand, EG looked to the high-ground after they dropped the final few outer towers on the Dire side. With only twenty-two minutes passed EG had destroyed the barracks in the bottom lane and there seemed to be no hope for Faceless. A few moments later EG marched into the Dire base and Faceless were unable to contest, throwing in the towel and calling GG, thus giving Evil Geniuses the victory.
With more fantastic Dota 2 action from Evil Geniuses today, they would be going forward to face Newbee tomorrow. For Team Faceless, unfortunately this would be the end of their DAC adventure. One more elimination match remains today, with iG.V taking on Team Empire, before the 1v1 tournament comes to its peak.
