The National Electronic Tournament has the group stage finished and will venture onwards into playoffs, quite shocking though without DK. They lost to both Vici and Tongfu who together will LGD and iG will compete further.
What was a massively long day of Dota came to an end a few hours ago and the second day is already about to start. Delays and a three-way tie in Group A caused the tournament's first day to drag out quite substantially. Vici Gaming said "we'll have none of that" and finished first in Group A by beating all three teams of DK, TongFu and RattleSnake. Vici have been performing incredibly well lately, showing they know how to act and react in the current version of Dota. With the use of a draft inspired by the TI3-meta but with a few twists, they are throwing off opponent after opponent. It does not seem to matter which carry player they are using either. Vici recently acquired Sylar from RisingStars while announcing the retirement of TuTu. However all tournaments but the D2L restricts Sylar from playing for Vici and they are using TuTu instead for the time being. The other teams of the group ended up in an ever so awkward three-way tie, causing them to sacrifice even further desires to eat and sleep.
If that was not enough, some of the teams had to leave the venue to play WPC-ACE League in the middle of the play day, players were most likely not too keen playing the tiebreakers but did so anyway. Despite struggling during the first half of both their tiebreaker games, TongFu managed to shape up and turn it around twice, claiming the second place of the group. RattleSnake lost both but are still to be considered winners at some level by displaying that their shape is not as bad as many thought, they beat TongFu and managed to produce a tie (almost a 2-0) vs DK in WPC-ACE. DK though, has to be seen as the disappointment of the day, leaving the tournament so early is most likely not a result they were happy with.
Group B was a more straight-forward story with LGD showing off their Dota 2 skills to everyone. Similar to Vici they are on a roll lately and taking it one step ahead with a 3-0 group stage result at an offline tournament. Invictus finished second, losing only to LGD. Group B also contained a less known team with the conspicuous name of GoatishSoul. They had some good laning stages but proved that once again inexperience will cause you to not be able to carry the early advantages into a victory.
The first match of the playoffs (Vici Gaming vs Invictus Gaming) started just now. It is casted by LD and Luminous over at BeyondtheSummit.
