
The Canada Cup will run for about two weeks and holds a prize pool of 750$. Even though it is called Canada Cup, South American teams have also been invited to complete the list of 16 teams. The format will be a GSL-formatted group stage with best-of-one matches and playoffs with best-of-three matches except for the finals which will be best-of-five.
On June 15th, the Canada Cup will kick off its first edition. The tournament is scheduled to run for two weeks and has several talented teams from all over South and North America in their invite list, such as Fnatic.na, Artyk, Root Gaming, Denial eSports and Typical Mistakes. Teams will play in a best-of-one GSL-type groupstage (double elimination bracket without the grand final) with the two best teams advancing into the best-of-three playoffs, except for the finals which will be best-of-five.
Coverage will be provided by Kawa and NYJohn with more casters expected to sign up. In addition, tickets for this tournament are available in the Dota 2 shop for 0.75€.
