The first day of the ESL Pro League LAN finals brought us the opening matches of the group stage. The opening matches were played in Group A where Team Solomid met Virtus.pro and Team Dignitas took on Natus Vincere.

The first clash was between Virtus.pro and Team Solomid who were recently saw action in the finals of Copenhagen Games. Although TSM was coming to this event with a stand-in they still showed a high level of performance. The first map, de_overpass, Was opened with a 3 quick rounds by VP, however that was the point when TSM took the control of it. They won eight consecutive rounds and totally dominated this half, 9-6. The second half was just a routinely played by the Danish side as they closed it with 16-12. On de_cache we saw a reversed scenario. Two very strong CT sides, where VP managed to have a slightly better defense which brought them back in this game 1-1. The deciding map was de_mirage. VP kicked off a great fashion, but TSM got themselves on board with 4 rounds on T side, which turned out to be enough for the win. The Danish side dropped only 1 round on their CT side to make it 16-12.

The second pair of group B also went into the all three maps where Team Dignitas in the end came out on the top of it knocking down Na'Vi to the lower bracket. The first map, de_cobblestone, was well opened by Na'Vi, however Dignitas got quickly after on board and the Danish team managed to score 10 rounds on CT side. Although, this didn't look too promising for them, due the fact that this was the map of Na'Vi's choice, Dignitas still managed to prevail after a very good T side for 16-11. The second map, de_mirage, was totally one sided. The Ukranian squad totally dominated it, giving only 2 rounds to Dignitas for 16-2. The decider was played on de_inferno. Dignitas just stomped their way into this map winning 7 consecutive rounds on T side before Na'Vi could actually score their first CT side round. In the end Na'Vi couldn't close the big gap which was created on their CT side and Dignitas took 16-12 win.
