Winterwatch: ANZ's First Post-Launch Overwatch Tournament Announced

After the success of 2 beta tournaments it’s no surprise that the first live server tournament is already announced with the first of 3 rounds to take place on June 4th.
The ANZ region has seen a rise in interest for Overwatch with the first ANZ tournament held in closed-beta attracting 8 teams alongside an open-beta tournament sign-up of 17 teams. Some teams have managed to establish themselves well already, with tournaments being won by the same team, albeit under different names and with 1 roster change. Vanderlay Industries prevailed in the ANZ Best of the Beta #2 against Jam Light who also competed well in the Best of the Beta #1, going down to Thick Boyz in the Semi-final who went on to lose 0-3 to Vanderlay.
Winterwatch will be a 3 round tournament with the first to kick off on the 4th of June at 10am AEST. After 3 rounds the overall winners will be decided and the top 3 teams will take a share in the $600 prize-pool.
With Esports organisations in the region already showing a keen interest in Overwatch alongside a very active community through overwatchanz we can only expect the scene to grow quickly with Winterwatch being only the beginning.
