Yesterday bad news hit the Malaysian HoN scene with the departure of dabeliuteef from Orange eSports, today a new tournament sheds positive light on that scene. The Malaysian Singapore HoN Championship 2013 will heat up the competition between the two big HoN nations.

The Garena Star League 2013 is in the books with Stay Green emerging as the undisputed Champion. As a huge follow-up to that epic event Garena has planned their first inter-country tournament with a run time of almost 9 months.

The Qualification Phase for the tournament will take place from April till October with a grand total eight individual qualifiers held in Malaysia and Singapore. Those eight qualifiers will be split into two "blocks" to have time for a seperate mid-season tournament after the first four are in the books. Eligible for that mid-season event are the eight qualified team from the first four qualifiers. In every qualifier the top two teams will advance to the second stage of the competition.

The Format:

Qualifier 1 - 4 : April til July
Two teams from each qualifier advancing - a total of eight teams

Midseason Tournament
The eight qualified teams clash

Qualifier 5 - 8 : August til October
Two teams from each qualifier advancing - a total of eight teams

Stage Two tournament
16 teams enter, 8 teams leave with a chance to participate in the Grand Finals

Grand Final Event
The best eight teams from Singapore and Malaysia combined are going head-to-head in the fight for the Championship

That second stage of the competition will be a tournament between the 16 emerging teams out of the eight qualifiers. The tournament is not the Grand Final of the competition just yet, but it is setting the stage for the epic conclusion. From the 16 teams walking in only eight will still be alive and have a chance of becoming the first ever Malaysia Singapore HoN Champion.

After that the final stage of the event will kick in with the remaining eight teams fighting for the Championship and for a chunk of the RM100,000 (~ $32,000 USD) in prize money. Not only the highlight teams from that region like iMpunity, Orange eSports, HoNPortal.Malaysia or Invasion eSports are going to get their moment in the spotlight, but the way the tournament will be designed is, to promote also the younger and inexperienced teams to try their luck on the great SEA eSports stage. Everyone can try their luck in the eight qualifiers and everyone from Singapore and Malaysia has the chance to be crowned the Malaysian Singapore HoN Champion of the year 2013.
