Seo Yong "Rain" Park will leave the Fnatic jersey behind as he puts an end to his StarCraft 2 career. Rain retires citing inability to produce good games and good results anymore.
Rain's career started explosively in 2010 as he took second place in GSL Open 3, losing 1:4 to MC. Since then, however, his performance has been fluctuating with a declining trend, peaking at a top six at Anaheim 2011 and top four at DreamHack Valencia 2011. 2012 has also been rough to him as he has been absent from the GSL altogether, only having a few top twenty finishes at MLG.
Following those results, it was announced yesterday that Rain will not continue playing StarCraft 2 professionally.
Rain:
Hi guys this is Fnatic Rain and I'm really sad to announce my retirement. I was considering about retirement about 3months ago but now I think it's a proper time to retire because I feel I can't make good game and result anymore. I'm really thankful to Fnatic for such a good opportunity and provide me a good environment. I had really good experience abroad and made many friends, competing in lot of tournaments. If I didn't work with Fnatic, I think I wouldn't have been able to have such good opportunities.
