Carlo "ClouD" Giannacco talks to GosuGamers.net about his situation in the EPS, and today's match against Jonathan "DarK.FoRcE" Belke at the Intel Friday Night Games in Munich.
Compared to your achievements in international tournaments, like ZOTAC SC2 Cups or Go4SC2 Cups, why do you think, you're doing so bad in EPS?
- Regarding EPS I've had a strong mental block in all my games. I've played so much below my standards every game and it's really frustrating for me lately. I've lost a lot of confidence, I know I'm a good player but it seems I can't just perform well in this tournament. I don't even know the exact reason, I tried to get some clue but it just gets on my nerves too much when I play EPS matches and I end up playing very bad.
Do you think you'll be able to come back and climb the table?
- I definitely have the skill to win all my next matches, but as I told you my practice or skill level is not the issue. I'm trying to overcome my mental block before it's too late but I don't really know how well it's going to go.
Are you excited about your participation at the Intel Friday Night Games in Munich?
- Of course I am, I like IFNG and visiting German cities. People say Munich is a beautiful place and I also have a friend living there so I'm very excited. Darkforce is going to be a hard opponent and in his last game he beat DemusliM so it will be very challenging. I have discussed about TvZ strategies with Satiini and he opened up a whole new perspective in my life so I might be able to win!

- Cloud about the upcoming matchSo what does your preparation looks like exactly?
- I just play, watch replays and GSL, like everyone else. I just have a lot of time and dedication for that. But this time I'm also trying to improve my mindset so I will not perform so bad. I really want to overcome this so I can start giving my team the performance they are expecting from me.
That sounds good! Besides EPS Germany, which major tournaments will you attend in the future and which ones would you like to compete in?
- I really want to qualify for GO4SC2 monthly finals and IEM offline finals. I was also invited to the tournament organized by HomerJ and I hope I can perform well in that one too. There's also a lot more upcoming tournaments, I'll just try to play everything I get the chance to take part into and try to play as well as I can. I am convinced that if I manage to play my best I can have very good results even in the most competitive tournaments.
